With yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Chunky across the collection, this new premium series awaits the artistry of hand dyers. The Scheepjes Nakid Series includes six different yarns in three undyed fiber blends. Aimed at hand dyers, it is equally suitable for those who love to knit and crochet with natural shades. The attractive appearance of the yarns will vary slightly due to the natural fiber composition.

Scheepjes Nakid Poor Wool Sport and DK skeins are made from 100% Basolan Wool. They are perfect for creating stylish soft, and cozy garments like sweaters, cardigans, and shawls. Thanks to the fine structure of the wool fiber, enjoy the silky feel of this yarn as it keeps you cozy and warm throughout the changing seasons. Each skein of Scheepjes Nakid weighs 100 grams (The lengths and the recommended needle sizes depend on the yarn weights.)

What is Basolan Wool?

Basolan wool is produced by applying a mild acid solution to the wool fibers, which removes some of the scales that cause wool to felt and shrink when washed. The acid also modifies the chemical structure of the wool, making it more hydrophobic (water-repellent) and less prone to absorbing odors and stains. The result is a wool that is easier to care for, and more durable than untreated wool. This treatment process makes the wool shrink-resistant and enables the dye to penetrate the fibers deeper, producing a more intense depth and brightness of color. Hand dyers can achieve vibrant results with minimal shrinkage.

What to knit or crochet from Scheepjes Nakid yarns?

It is a perfect choice to knit or crochet warm shawls, scarves, winter-cowls, and beanies or home decor items, like warm soft blankets, and pillows
